Congratulations to Club Softball on becoming the 2025 National Champions of the National Club Softball Association, Division I!
The team entered the tournament as the number one seed in the nation. They finished pool play undefeated, taking down (8) St. Bonaventure, (9) Florida State, and (16) Ohio University and maintaining the number one seed entering the double elimination bracket.
Four straight bracket wins led the Wolverines to the championship game.
18-0 vs The College of New Jersey
6-0 vs North Carolina State
9-3 vs Florida State
2-1 vs Air Force
They faced the University of California-Davis Aggies who had come through the losers’ bracket after losing their first-round game to Colorado.
UC-Davis started strong, leading the game 6-0, but Michigan answered and led 7-6 at the end of the 6th inning. The Aggies tied the score during the top of the 7th, and in the bottom of the inning, Michigan’s Shaylin Ciaramitaro hit a walk-off hit, bringing in Taylor Daniels for the game winning run.
The Most Valuable Player award went to Ava Chatlosh, the Club’s Co-President, who had a double, a tripe, and four RBIs in the championship game, including the go ahead run at the bottom of the 6th inning.
This is Club Softball’s first national championship after many NCSA World Series appearances.
GO BLUE!
