Intramural Sports

Get out there and have some fun! You can form a team and join an intramural league with weekly matches. Or, if you don’t want to commit to a season of play, you can opt to participate in our tournaments. In any case, intramurals are an opportunity to get active, have fun and meet some like-minded friends. Want to play, but can’t find a team? You can join as a Free Agent.

Summer 2026

July-August

Spring Season (July – August 2026)

Reminder – Summer Leagues only consist of Sand Volleyball

Dates:

Registration: CLOSED
Regular Season Round Robin: July 7th – August 6th
Championship Week: August 10th – August 13th
- Teams will be seeded from their round robin schedule
  - 1 vs 2 (Championship)
  - 3 vs 4 (3rd Place Game)
  - 5 vs 6 (For fun!)

Costs and Eligibility:

Pass Pricing (Must be purchased from the webstore before you can register)
- Summer Pass: $20 per person for access to Sand Volleyball Leagues
- All paid passes are available on our webstore and must be purchased before you can register for a sport or team.
Eligibility
- Spring/Summer Intramurals do not require an active recreational sports membership to participate

Maize Season

Registration Opens August 31st

Fall Maize Season (September – October 2026)

Dates:

Registration: August 31st – September 8th
Regular Season Round Robin: September 13th – October 2nd
Playoffs: October 4th – 16th

Costs and Eligibility:

Pass Pricing (Must be purchased from the webstore before you can register)
- Maize/Blue Combo Pass: $20 per person for access to all offered sports during the Maize & Blue Seasons
- Semester Pass: $40 per person for access to all offered sports during the semester the pass was purchased.
Eligibility
- Must be a current student at the University of Michigan, or an eligible member of Michigan Recreation.

NEW – Badminton (2v2) at the IMSB
Beach Volleyball (4v4) at Mitchell Field
NEW – Bucket Golf at Mitchell Field
Cornhole (singles & doubles) at Mitchell Field
Esports (Various Titles) at the IMSB
Kickball (6v6) at Mitchell Field
Pickleball (singles & doubles) at the IMSB
Spikeball (singles & doubles) at Mitchell Field
Ultimate Frisbee (7v7) at Mitchell Field

Victors Season

Registrations begin September 8th

Fall Victors Season (September – November 2026)

Dates:

Registration:
- Flag Football: September 8th – 15th
- Soccer: September 9th – 16th
Regular Season Round Robin: September 20th – October 30th
Playoffs: November 1st – 23rd

Costs and Eligibility:

Pass Pricing (Must be purchased from the webstore before you can register)
- Victors Pass: $30 per person for access to all offered sports during the Victors Season only
- Semester Pass: $40 per person for access to all offered sports during the semester the pass was purchased.
Eligibility
- Must be a current student at the University of Michigan, or an eligible member of Michigan Recreation.

Offered Sports (Staff Officiated):

Flag Football (7v7) at Mitchell Field
Soccer (7v7) at Mitchell Field

All Victors Season sports are officiated by trained employees of Michigan Recreation

Blue Season

Registration opens October 12th

Fall Blue Season (October – November 2026)

Dates:

Registration: October 12th – 21st
Regular Season Round Robin: October 25th – November 13th
Playoffs: November 15th – December 4th

Sports will be offered in a variety of leagues (Men’s, Women’s, Co-Rec, or Open) depending on the sport’s size and demand.

Within these leagues, we will have divisions that allow participants to better choose the competitive level that best fits their needs.

Competitive

This is our highest level of competition offered, and is for those players and teams who are looking for higher levels of competitive games.

Players should expect to compete against other players or teams who have a familiar skill level or experience with the sport.

All teams or players will be eligible for playoffs and the chance to compete for a championship.

Recreational

This is our traditional level of competition for students that is both a mix of the social and competitive atmospheres.

Skill levels can vary from brand new to very experienced, but the emphasis is on those who are looking to enjoy the game/competition while socializing or being around others.

Log in to Fusion Play with your UM-Credentials or the email you used to purchase your season pass
1. If you are logging in with non-UM-credentials, check your receipt from your season pass purchase for the group code to enter
Once logged in, be sure to head to your profile, and update your information

Looking for a team to play with? Need more players to fill your team?

Free Agent status is identified as participants who do not already have a team but want to join or create one.

Free Agents – log in to Fusion Play, find the sports and leagues you are interested in joining, and add yourself to the Free Agent list. Also, check out Fusion Play for Free Agent teams that individuals can join.

Team Captains – search through Free Agent lists to find more teammates after your team is registered.

There are instructions for both Free Agents and Captains within these videos.

2025-2026 Intramural Sport Rules

The purpose of the Policies and Rules is to ensure an equitable and enjoyable experience is possible for all participants and staff members. An explanation of the SRS point system is outlined on the policy page.

Referee games and contests AND help maintain a fun, safe experience for students! As a Michigan Recreation official, you get to work with a supportive community and enjoy perks like:
